Soft water...
Less Scale
Soft water helps to provide easier maintenance of appliances
that use water (humidifiers). Hard water scale (as seen below) has
to be chipped off or removed by acid.
Soap Usage
With softened water, less soap is needed. About 1/2 cup
of detergent should be adequate for an ordinary wash load. A helpful hint
- adjust the detergent amount until suds remain at the end of the agitate cycle.
Slick Skin
The smooth feeling
after a soft water bath is due to the absence of soap curd. In contrast,
hard water baths will leave the skin feeling tacky because of the soap film left
behind.
